Individual Counseling
Life includes struggles that sometimes become too difficult to handle alone. Counseling is available for issues dealing with grief and trauma, depression and anxiety, sex and love addiction, internet and gaming addictions, work-a-holism, and other issues that impair the ability to live a healthy, happy life.

For families and/or friends of a person struggling with addiction who are interested in facilitating a serious intervention in their loved one’s life.

Substance Abuse Assessment
If you have a DWI, you will need to obtain a substance abuse assessment. Four Directions will be able to schedule your assessment and treatment at a time that is convenient for you.
ADETS
To qualify for ADETS all of the following must apply:
- Your current DWI must be your only drug or alcohol related charge EVER
- You must have submitted to the breathalyzer, and your blood/alcohol level must have been less than .15
- Based on your assessment, your counselor must find that you do not meet the criteria for substance abuse or dependence
Short-Term Outpatient Treatment
For those who do not meet the requirements for ADETS, but have a mild or no substance use problem, short-term counseling consisting of at least 20 hours is recommended
Long-Term Outpatient Treatment
For individuals who meet the criteria for a moderate substance use diagnosis, a minimum of 40 hours is recommended.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Those individuals who meet the criteria for a moderate or severe substance use diagnosis and need a more structured program are recommended for IOP. This program meets three times each week and strongly recommends the support of a 12- step program. Individuals needing medically-managed services are referred to a more appropriate program within the community. IOP enables clients to receive treatment services while remaining at their jobs and with their families.
Detox/Residential Treatment
Individuals who require detoxification, inpatient, or residential services are referred to outside agencies prior to completing aftercare. Our staff has access to a full range of treatment facilities that meet needs specific to the individual’s situation and are grateful for the opportunity to provide a list of resources available.
Domestic Violence Program
This program is for persons who have been convicted of domestic-related assault or a violent offense. The 26-week domestic violence program is also appropriate for individuals who have an interest in learning ways to prevent violence in their own lives and in changing the climate of violence in general.
Anger Management
This service is for persons who have been convicted of a non-domestic assault or violent offense or for those who struggle with issues related to anger and choose to seek counseling.
Aftercare Treatment
Aftercare services are available for individuals who have previously completed an IOP or Inpatient Treatment Program.
Out of State reviews
Our agency provides out of state reviews for individuals who need to complete North Carolina DMV licensure requirements.
